In 2007, George Slessman, Bill Slessman and Anthony Wanger founded IO Data Centres in a garage with 3 laptop computers and a folding table from Costco with one sole purpose: To disrupt and revolutionise the data centre industry. Our founders reinvented the Colocation Data Centre by bringing webscale to any scale. IO has a Global Footprint with 5 locations around the world including New Jersey, Ohio, Phoenix, Scottsdale, and Singapore.

George Slessman Chief Executive Officer
For over two decades, George Slessman has been a technology visionary and leader. He has founded, built, and successfully exited multiple businesses in his career, organically creating over a billion dollars in equity value. George’s forte is disruption – inventing and synthesizing software, telecom, data, and energy technologies in unique ways that have enabled the transformation of business and mission performance for thousands of enterprises and organizations.
Anthony Wanger President
Anthony Wanger serves as President of IO. In this capacity, Wanger directs the Company’s expansion and acquisition activities, oversees key transactions and the Company’s Legal, Ecosystem, Real Estate, and Risk Management functions. Wanger has led IO’s DCaaS expansion and development across the world. Prior to his involvement with IO, Wanger co-founded and managed Sterling Network Services, LLC, a leading enterprise data centre services provider. Earlier in his career, Wanger was a private equity investor and served as Senior Vice President at Sterling Partners where he directed a variety of investments and transactions for the firm. Wanger graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from Emory University and a Juris Doctor degree from the Boston University School of Law.
Mark Wetzel Interim Chief Financial Officer
Mark Wetzel serves as IO’s Interim Chief Financial Officer. In this role, he oversees all finance, planning, accounting, tax and treasury functions for the Company. Mr. Wetzel has over twenty years of financial leadership with experience in investment banking & public accounting and operational finance. Before joining IO, he worked as an investment executive where he was CFO and Treasurer in the AVIV REIT, based in Chicago, IL. In that capacity, he advised on a $3 billion market cap healthcare REIT with 357 triple-net lease properties, 38 operators in 31 states with $210 million of annualized revenue and $2.1 billion of assets. Earlier in his career, Mr. Wetzel worked as EVP, CFO and Treasurer at DuPont Fabros Technology based in Washington D.C., managing a $3 billion market cap data center REIT with 2.5 million gross square feet of space, $385 million of annualized revenue and $2.7 billion of assets. He has an MBA from Xavier University and a BS in Accounting from Gannon University.
Rick Crutchly Chief Operating Officer
Rick Crutchley serves as IO’s Chief Operating Officer and is responsible for providing global leadership to IO’s operations and sales organizations and direct all aspects of those organizations’ operational policies, objectives, and initiatives. Mr. Crutchley is a 16-year data centre industry veteran, focused on building global sales teams, optimizing the customer experience and attaining annual sales and revenue targets. Mr. Crutchley previously served as the Vice President of Global Sales for Core Link Datacenters as well as the Chief Operating Officer for Cyber Trails, a national provider of IT services. He was also the General Manager and Director of Western Operations for Inflow, which was acquired by SunGard in 2005. Mr. Crutchley is a board member of the Fresh Start Women’s Foundation and a previous board member of the Arizona Technology Council. He is also actively involved in the CEO Forum and Arizona Business Leadership Association. Mr. Crutchley holds a Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice from the University of Wisconsin.
Darren Webb Managing Director Singapore and Southeast Asia
As Managing Director in Singapore and Southeast Asia, Darren Webb leads IO’s business and operations locally and regionally whilst driving growth in both existing and new markets within the region, establishing Singapore as the strategic Asian hub. His key responsibilities are to increase market share, profitability and overall operational efficiency. With over 20 years of experience in the telecommunications industry, Darren has held senior appointments across the globe. Prior to joining IO, Darren served as head of business Transformation for Asia and Africa at Vodafone. Darren previously held a number of leadership positions at Cable&Wireless in both Asia and Europe.
Jason Pfaff Senior Vice President Data Centers
Jason Pfaff serves as IO’s Senior Vice President Data Centres. In this role, he is responsible for the business model and infrastructure needed to grow and engage IO’s customers across the globe. Mr. Pfaff has over fifteen years of related experience to the benefit of the data centre industry, twelve of which have been managing data centres. Before joining IO, he worked as Operations Manager at Digital Realty. In that capacity, was responsible for the installation, operation, and maintenance of data centre infrastructure. Earlier in his career, Mr. Pfaff worked as Operations Lead Technician at The Fishel Company, responsible for design and installation of Telecom infrastructure and equipment as well as mainlining service contracts with multiple IT carriers and data centre customers. Mr. Pfaff was also named Data Centre Manager of the Year in 2014 by AFCOM and is an Accredited Tier Specialist with the Uptime Institute.
Karen Stein General Counsel
Karen Stein is General Counsel for IO. Ms. Stein oversees all legal and risk management functions of the Company. She holds a Juris Doctor, with Honors, from Emory University, an MBA from Loyola University with a concentration in Finance, and a Bachelor of Science degree in Business from the University of Maryland, where she graduated magna cum laude. She has practiced law since 1994, focusing on business transactions, licensing, and intellectual property. Before joining IO, Ms. Stein practiced at the Troutman Sanders law firm in Atlanta, Georgia, and served as the Assistant General Counsel for the PGA TOUR for ten years.
Mark Wachtmann Chief Information Officer
Mark Wachtmann serves as Chief Information Officer for IO and is responsible for the overall performance of the network and cloud services product lines. Mr. Wachtmann has over 20 years’ experience of demonstrated success leading business and technology strategy, planning and execution for start-ups and established companies with global footprints. Prior to joining IO, Wachtmann served as Vice President Global IT Operations at Aristocrat. Wachtmann also held multiple leadership positions at GoDaddy, building and delivering web scale service provider class services. Prior to GoDaddy, Wachtmann held product and operations roles at Blackboard and AT&T. Mr. Wachtmann holds a Bachelor’s of Science from California State University-Northridge.
Charisse Richards Chief of Staff
Charisse Richards serves as IO’s Chief of Staff. In this role, she leads the effort to align the executive team in identifying, prioritizing, and executing on our corporate objectives. Ms. Richards has over fifteen years of experience in Systems and Database Management, IT Service Management, Business Process Management, and Project/Program Management. Before joining IO, she worked as Sr. Director, Service Management and Support at Choice Hotels. In that capacity, established global IT policy and led directors and senior managers, and staff of 75 across Service Management, Testing, Service Desk and Support, and Systems Performance units. She has an MBA from Arizona State University’s W.P. Carey School of Business and a BS in Information Technology from the University of Phoenix.
