Partnerships with International Non-Profit Organisations
In addition, Singapore, through the Singapore Cooperation Programme, has established many joint training programmes with various organisations, under an arrangement known as the Third Country Training Programme (TCTP). Harnessing the joint expertise of Singapore and the partner organisations, these training programmes are part of Singapore's larger capacity-building initiative for other countries. Asian Development Bank (ADB)
Singapore and the Asian Development Bank have been conducting joint training courses since 1991 for developing countries under the Singapore-ADB Technical cooperation Programme
Commonwealth of Learning (COL)
The Commonwealth of Learning (COL) conducts training for Chief Executive Officers of training institutes from Commonwealth African countries.
Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP)
Singapore and the Economic and Social Comission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP) are jointly conducting training programmes with a focus on tourism, trade promotion, port management, project planning and other fields mutually agreed upon for countries in the Asia-Pacific region.
Hanns Siedel Foundation
The Hanns Siedel Foundation conducts human resource development for government officials
International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO)
The ICAO is working with Singapore to promote the safety and development of civil aviation through human resource development. More than 220 fellowships have been awarded to 65 ICAO contracting states to attend specialized training programmes at the Singapore Aviation Academy.
International Maritime Organisation (IMO)
The IMO provides technical assistance to member countries on matters relating to maritime safety and prevention and control of marine pollution.
International Monetary Fund (IMF)
Singapore and the IMF established the IMF-Singapore Regional Training Institute in 1997, providing training for government officials from the Asia-Pacific region in areas of macroeconomic and financial management, as well as legal and statistical subjects.
United Nations Children's Fund
The Singapore-UNICEF Third Country Training Programme has provided joint courses on Early Childhood Education to participants from 19 countries.
United Nations Development Programme
Since 1992, over 1200 government officials from 86 countries, including those from the Carribbean and Sub-Saharan Africa, have participated in the Singapore-UNDP programmes, in areas such as civil aviation management and environmental health.
